Spicy Slaw
This spicy slaw is the kind of recipe that pulls double duty—in the best way. It’s bold, tangy, and just the right amount of spicy to wake up your taste buds. While it makes a crisp, refreshing side dish for grilled meats or summer cookouts, it truly shines as the perfect topping for Sesame Pork Burgers. I first found this recipe and the Sesame Pork Burger recipe on Epicurious,
Recipe Steps
With a simple mix of cabbage, scallions, and a zippy sriracha mayo dressing, this slaw comes together quickly and adds a flavorful crunch to any plate.
I make it quicker by using a bag of coleslaw mix. I also add cilantro to the spicy slaw for greater flavor.

Spicy Slaw
Ingredients
- ½ C mayonnaise
- 1 Tbsp. rice vinegar (or white vinegar)
- 1 Tbsp. Sriracha sauce
- 2 tsp. sugar
- 4 green onions chopped
- ¼ - ½ C cilantro chopped
- 1 tsp. kosher salt
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, vinegar, Sriracha, sugar, and 1 tsp. of kosher salt. Using rice vinegar provides a richer flavor if you have it. Reserve ¼ cup of the dressing to use as a burger condiment if pairing with Sesame Pork Burgers.
- Add the shredded cabbage, ¼ cup of cilantro, and scallions. Toss to coat evenly.
- Taste and add the remaining ¼ cup of cilantro, and any additional salt or Sriracha as needed. Set aside to allow the flavors to meld.
